HDFC Bank empowered startups bringing sustainable change in the social sector by giving them #Parivartan grants amounting to Rs 5 crore through the bank’s #SmartUp initiative. The 2-day event held in #Bangalore saw presentations made by 30 startups out of which 20 were selected, taking the total tally to 60 startups in 3 years. The bank works through incubators such as IIT Kanpur, T -Hub, KIIT TBI, Villgro, IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore and BITS Pilani to name a few. The foremost criterion for grant eligibility is that the start-up should be working in the social sector. Others include: a. Sustainability of the idea b. Potential to scale up c. Through our #CSR arm, #Parivartan, HDFC Bank extended financial support (a grant of Rs 50 lakh) to provide prosthetic limbs for the Divyangs. We have joined hands with the Bhagwan Mahaveer Viklang Sahayata Samiti (BMVSS) for this noble cause. HDFC Bank completes 25 years! To commemorate the occasion we will plant 25 lakh trees and digitize 2500 classrooms in government schools across #India in the next two years under #Parivartan our #CSR umbrella brand. HDFC Bank launched the #NavacharPustika, a manual of innovative teaching ideas also called Innovations Handbook in Haryana. This is a compilation of innovative teaching ideas contributed by teachers themselves. These zero cost, high impact ideas are part of the Bank's #TeachingTheTeacher (3T) program under #Parivartan in partnership with Sri Aurobindo Society. In #Haryana, more than 35,000 #teachers have been trained across 4,000 #schools benefiting over 3 lakh #students. The event was organized at Mahatma Gandhi State Institute of Public Administration in #Chandigarh. The Chief Guest, Shri Kanwar Pal Gujjar Minister of State for Education, Haryana, felicitated the teachers, whose ideas were published in the Navachar Pustika. “An empowered and encouraged teacher means a harmonious and progressive society.
